hosted/trips is a list of trips run by real hosts. This page explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and how you can see, change or delete it. It covers hostedtrips.com and our sign-in at accounts.hostedtrips.com, which is also used by our guest app, en route.
Who we are. hosted/trips is run by SRALL, LLC, 10245 North Allwood Terrace, Citrus Springs, FL 34434, United States. Questions or requests: [email protected].
What we collect, and when
When you browse
- Technical data. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, handles things like your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't store your IP address with anything else.
- Counts, not people. We count how many times each trip is viewed, saved and clicked through to the host's site, and where visits come from (for example "Google" or "Instagram"), worked out from the page that sent you. These counts are never tied to you.
- Cookies, only if you accept. See Cookies below.
- Spam protection. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is sending them.
When you save a trip
Without an account, your saved trips stay in your own browser; we don't receive the list. We count how many times each trip is saved, never who saved it. If you're signed in, your saved trips are kept with your account so you see them on every device.
When you make an account
Your name and email address, and how you sign in: Face ID or fingerprint (a passkey: we receive a public key; your face or fingerprint never leaves your device), Apple or Google (we receive your name, email address and an account number from them), or a password (stored as a one-way scrambled code nobody can read, us included). One cookie keeps you signed in for up to a year. The same account works on hosted/trips and in en route.
When you ask for trip alerts
Your first name, email address, the kinds of trip you chose, and a record of what you agreed to. We email you when a matching trip is listed, until you stop the alerts (every email has a one-click stop link).
When you're interested in a trip idea
Your first name, email address and anything you write about what would make you book. The host sees how many people are interested and what they wrote. The host gets your name and email address only if the trip goes ahead, is approved for listing, and you agreed to hear about it.
When you list a trip or a trip idea (hosts)
Your name, email address, the trip details, photos and video links you send, an optional photo and short bio, the plan you choose and any partner code. Your trip details, name, photos and bio are shown publicly once approved; your email address is never shown. Your private host link lets you see your numbers and change your trip.
When you write to us
Your email and whatever you include in it.
How we use it
- To run the site: show trips, keep your saved trips, sign you in, and send the emails you asked for (account emails, alerts, and messages about your listing).
- To show hosts their numbers (counts only) so they can see what's working.
- To keep the site safe and stop spam and abuse.
- Only if you accept cookies: to measure visits and see which ads and links bring people here.
We don't use your information to change the order of the list. The regular list is never for sale.
Cookies
Every visitor sees a choice, with Accept and Decline as equal buttons. You can change it any time from Cookie settings in the footer or on Your privacy choices.
- Always: a cookie that remembers your choice (one year); a sign-in cookie if you sign in (up to a year); a short-lived cookie during sign-in (ten minutes).
- Only after Accept: a cookie that remembers where you first came from (30 days, for example "Google" or "an ad"); Google Analytics (Google), the Meta pixel (Meta Platforms) and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft), which measure visits, record how pages are used, and show which ads and links bring people here.
- Decline, or a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser, means none of the "only after Accept" cookies or tools are used.
Who sees your information
- Hosts, only as described above.
- Companies that run parts of the service for us: Cloudflare (hosting, databases, file storage, sending email, spam checks); Apple and Google if you choose to sign in with them; and, only if you accept cookies, Google, Meta and Microsoft for measurement and advertising.
- When the law requires it, or to protect people's safety or our rights.
- If our business changes hands, the new owner would take on this policy.
We don't sell your personal information. Under California law, letting Meta and Google measure visits for advertising can count as "sharing"; it only happens if you accept cookies, and you can turn it off on Your privacy choices.
How long we keep it
- Accounts: until you delete your account, which you can do yourself from your account page.
- Trip alerts: until you stop them.
- Listings and host details: while the trip is listed, and afterwards only as long as we need for our records.
- Cookies: as listed above.
- Anything else: until you ask us to delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can stop our emails any time. Email [email protected] from the address you use with us. We may ask you to confirm it's you, and we answer within 30 days.
California residents
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to delete it; to correct it; to opt out of its sale or sharing (we don't sell it; for sharing, use Your privacy choices, the "Do not sell or share my personal information" link in every footer); and to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we don't collect any). We honour Global Privacy Control. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. You can use an authorized agent. In the last 12 months we collected: identifiers (name, email address, account number), internet activity (pages viewed on our site, with consent for the tools above), and what you send us, for the purposes listed under "How we use it". We answer California requests within 45 days.
Visitors in the EU, UK and Switzerland
We use your information to provide what you ask for (contract), to run and protect the site (legitimate interests), and for cookies and measurement, only with your consent, which you can withdraw any time. You can also ask us to limit or object to how we use your information, or for a copy to take elsewhere, and you can complain to your data protection authority. Our service runs on Cloudflare's network, so your information may be processed in the United States and other countries.
Children
hosted/trips isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Keeping it safe
We use encrypted connections, store passwords and sign-in links only in scrambled form, and limit who can see personal information. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
