We run trips too.
We're Anna, Robert and Stacy. We host our own trips, and through The Hosting Guild we teach other hosts how to run theirs. hosted/trips is the place we wished existed: one honest list of trips, each with a real person behind it.
-
Anna VanAgtmael
Runs retreats
Anna started Wandering Roots in 2018, after a car accident and fourteen weeks in a neck brace made her rethink every comfortable choice she had made. She has hosted retreats from Banff to Scotland to the Smokies, and she spends most of her time helping people step past the excuses that keep them at the edge of their comfort zone.

Robert Earl
Runs race trips
Robert is an Air Force veteran and a lifelong motorsports fan who has been to every Indianapolis 500 since 2001. He runs Racing Passport, for race fans who plan their year around the grandstands. At heart he is a teacher.
-
Stacy Earl
Runs small trips of her own
Stacy is a licensed travel advisor with a small travel company of her own, and twenty years in marketing behind her. She has been building websites since 1999, and she is the one who will tell you the true thing about your trip page.
What we believe
- People need each other, and it's harder than ever to find them. Social media puts thousands of people a scroll away and makes it harder to really know any of them. A week with a small group and a good host fixes that in a way a feed can't.
- Travel changes people. Going somewhere new with people you've just met is one of the fastest ways we know to grow.
- Every trip should have a person behind it. Someone who planned it, will be there, and answers when you write.
- Making a profit is fine. A fair one. We're a business and we intend to stay one. We charge hosts a flat fee to be listed, the same for everyone, and nothing on top.
What we don't believe in
- Selling the order of the list. Sponsored spots are always labeled. The regular list is never for sale.
- Taking a cut of someone else's trip. We take no cut of your bookings, or of anything you sell your guests afterwards.
- Telling hosts what to charge. We never make you charge more on your own site.
- Pressure tricks. No countdown clocks, no "only 2 spots left" we can't check. When booking closes, we show the date.
